CONSTRUCTION SITE BUSINESS LUNCHEON?

That’s right! 60 people, at the new Steele County Detention Center being built in Owatonna Minnesota, attended a noon- hour safety-training business luncheon. Construction Partnership and general contractor, A. J. Lysne Construction, set up the safety-training program. Allen Lysne furnished a hot chicken dinner for all of the construction workers on the job and some of the county employees who also attended the safety-training session. Don Krahn did a great job presenting the required OSHA programs and each person in attendance will receive a wallet card to present an OSHA representative when asked. Everyone at the meeting made Don’s job easier by paying attention and asking questions when needed. This was an effective on the job presentation because one of the important messages was, Safety is your job, and it means everyone. Al Lysne also stated that this was time well spent because safety is everyone’s business.
The Steele County Detention Center project in Owatonna is an all-union project being done under a Project Labor Agreement with the help of Steve Claypatch and the Minnesota Market Recovery Program. According to Al Lysne the job is on time and within budget. Judy Meister Safety Director for A.J. Lysne Construction, thanked the crew for their hard work and safe practices already being demonstrated on the project.

Great things happen when we all work together. Thanks to all of you.
