NIOSH Warns of CO/Gas-Powered Engine Risk
This week the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) posted recommendations and resources to help employers deal with carbon monoxide hazards from small gasoline-powered engines. NIOSH cites a number of examples where workers were poisoned, some in settings where windows and doors were open. NIOSH warns that opening doors and windows or operating fans does not guarantee safety. See www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/co/.
